The event described in Jeremiah 31:15 (which is quoted in Matthew 2:18) occurred approximately 600 years after the prophecy was written. The original prophecy was written in the late 7th to the 6th century BC, while the New Testament event (the massacre of the innocents) happened shortly after the birth of Jesus…..We serve an amazing God…….
